Civil police officer attacks woman cop in Thodupuzha, no action taken

IDUKKI: A woman cop on VIP duty was attacked by a civil police officer in Thodupuzha. The female cop, who was on VIP duty as part of the Goa Governor's visit was attacked by her colleague. The incident happened at Thodupuzha bus stand on Sunday morning.


The police officer of Thodupuzha station, who was on security duty ahead of Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai's visit was attacked by the civil police officer of Muttam station, who reached there at that time. The officer attacked was rescued by the people present in the spot. The civil police officer left the place immediately. Her other colleagues rushed her to the station immediately.


After the incident, efforts are being made to resolve the issue without publicizing it. No case or departmental action has yet been taken against the civil police officer, who attacked her. The explanation is that a case has not been registered as a complaint was not obtained.

Meantime, various intelligence agencies have given a report to the higher officials about the incident. Cops in the force are furious as no action has been taken against the police officer.
