AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat government will pay the ticket price of the employees travelling on Vande Bharat Express. Travel expenses are paid to government employees by including them in the leave travel concession. This decision was taken by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel following the demands of the employees. The Chief Minister's office issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.
Currently, five lakh government employees in Gujarat are getting leave travel concession. It is possible to travel 6000 km in four years. According to the press release, the Chief Minister had decided to include the Vande Bharat Express trains in the travel concession.
The employees had petitioned the state government to allow travel in Vande Bharat trains under the travel concession scheme. It has also been informed that the Finance Department will issue a government resolution in this regard.
