THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Doctors in Kerala will stage a strike on Friday in protest against the incident where a young lady doctor was raped and murdered in Kolkata. PG doctors and senior resident doctors will go on strike tomorrow. The strike was announced by the Kerala Medical Post Graduate Association (KMPGA). The KMPGA announced that only emergency services will be available at hospitals tomorrow, as doctors will be boycotting outpatient (OP) duties and other regular services. Additionally, doctors from the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute have pledged their support for the strike, further solidifying the protest.
The Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) has declared tomorrow a Black Day to protest the murder of the young doctor. The protesters are calling for the immediate arrest of the accused and the termination of responsible officials. They are also demanding the implementation of the Central Protection Act to ensure the safety and security of doctors in hospitals.
