LUCKNOW: With the nation fixated on the brutal rape case in RG Kar hospital in West Bengal, little media attention fell on the 14-year-old girl, who died in Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh. School teacher Vishambar, a native of Ballia, Uttar Pradesh is now at large after police blamed him for the girl's death.

The minor girl was undergoing treatment at the Banaras Hindu University Hospital for the last 20 days but died on Tuesday midnight. The incident related to the case took place in December last year. Vishambar was the sports teacher at the school where the child studied. He called the child on the pretext of participating in a sports competition and then took her home and raped her. In fear of humiliation, the girl kept mum about the incident.

After the incident, the child's health began to deteriorate. Months later, the child disclosed the abuse to a relative. After this, the child was admitted to the hospital. The family reveals that Vishambar paid Rs 30,000 to keep the information from coming out. Initially, the family didn’t disclose the incident but the child’s father decided to file a complaint on July 10th after the health of the victim deteriorated. The police stated that POCSO has been charged against the accused and investigation has been intensified.
