Ranjith's exit imminent? Board removed from vehicle amid reports of Government's resignation demand

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After the serious revelation made by actress Srilekha Mitra, there are indications that Ranjith will step down from the post of State Chalachitra Academy Chairman. It is indicated that the culture department received an instruction regarding Ranjith's resignation from the chief minister's office.

The board indicating the chairman's official information has been removed from Ranjith's vehicle which is currently in Wayanad. The allegation against Ranjith was a severe pressure on the state government. With this, there were reactions from the women leaders of the Left Front that Ranjith should stay away from the position. Culture Minister Saji Cherian clarified that the government will not protect anyone who commits a mistake. The minister also mentioned that action will be taken if the allegation is proved.

Former president of the National Commission for Women, Rekha Sharma, had demanded that Ranjith be removed from the post of Chairman of Chalachitra Academy. Actress Urvashi had demanded that the allegation against Ranjith is serious and AMMA should take strong action against it. The actress also stated that the executive committee should be convened and the AMMA organization should discuss the issue immediately.
