THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian meteorological department has predicted strong rains in Kerala for the next five days. A strong low pressure is located over Southeast Uttar Pradesh and Northeast Madhya Pradesh. It is likely to move westward and strengthen by August 26. The cyclone formed over the North Bay of Bengal will intensify into low pressure in the next 48 hours. As a result of this, there is a possibility of widespread rain in Kerala for the next five days.

It has been announced that there may be rain with thunder and lightning in various districts today and tomorrow. There is no restriction on fishing in Lakshadweep shores.

Yellow alert has been issued in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on Saturday. A warning has also been issued in Kannur and Kasaragod districts as well. Idukki, Ernakulam and Palakkad districts are likely to experience thundershowers in the coming hours.
