Malayali nursing student under treatment for food poisoning from hostel, dies

ALAPPUZHA: A nursing student, who was under treatment for food poisoning from hostel, has died. She has been identified as Praveena (20) of Cheppad in Haripad. She was a second-year student of VMCC College of Nursing in Delhi. She died early Tuesday morning.

Praveena got food poisoning from the hostel last month. Praveena, who was initially being treated at Jindal Hospital in Haryana, was later shifted to hospitals in Haripad and Parumala.

She was later shifted to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram as she was in a critical condition. She died while undergoing treatment here. Praveena is the daughter of Pradeep of Cheppad Kunnel and Shailaja. The family has been settled at Hisar in Haryana for many years. Her mother s an employee of Vidya Devi Jindal School in Hisar. She will be laid to rest in the premises of her house later today.
