Noose tightens around Siddique, actors in same hotel, saw preview together; vital evidence 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The noose is tightening around actor Siddique and former general secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), in the sexual assault case. The actress and Siddique were in the same hotel on the days mentioned in the complaint. Moreover, the investigation has found that both were present for the preview show as well.

The actress complained that she was invited to the Mascot Hotel for film discussion, locked up and then abused. The police have recorded the complainant's detailed statement. The actress testified to the police that Siddique, who met her through social media during her high school time, invited her to Mascot Hotel for a movie discussion after the preview show of the film 'Sukhamayirikatte' in 2016 at Nila Theatre.

Her parents were with her at that time. She said as soon as she reached the hotel, he locked her in the room and abused her sexually. Somehow escaped from there. The actress alleged that this happened when she was 21. The police are likely to arrest him.

The actress has handed over a note posted on social media in 2018 and a news about the same published in an online media in 2021. Siddique has also been charged with restraint and intimidation. Siddique had complained to the DGP that there is a conspiracy behind the complaint.

Meantime, in another complaint, a case has been registered against seven including Mukesh MLA, Jayasurya, Maniyanpilla Raju and Edavela Babu. The complaint against Jayasurya is that he sexually assaulted an actress during the shooting at Secretariat in 2008. A case was registered against director Ranjith on the complaint of a Bengali actress.
