RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has executed a Malayali expatriate in the murder case of a native citizen. Abdul Khader Abdul Rahman (63), a resident of Cherumba in Palakkad district, was executed following the verdict of the Sharia court. Abdul Khader was found guilty of killing a Saudi Arabian citizen by smashing the latter's head.

Saudi Home Ministry on Thursday announced the execution of Abdul Khader, who was in prison in Riyadh. As soon as the murder took place, the accused was taken into police custody and the Saudi Sharia Court sentenced him to death. The Malayali expatriate approached the Supreme Court and the Royal Court seeking relief from the sentence, but the Sharia Court rejected the appeal and upheld the verdict.
