ANCHALUMMOOD: A couple, hailing from Kollam, were found dead in their house in Saudi’s Al Khobar –Thuqbah. Anoop Mohan (37) and his wife Ramyamol (28), of Mangalat house in Anchalummood Thrikkaruva, were found dead in Saudi on Thursday. Ramya's body was found lying on the bed while Anoop was found hanging from a fan.

The news of death came to light after neighbours barged into their apartment after hearing loud cries from five-year-old Aaradhya, daughter of the Anoop-Ramya couple. Saudi’s Al Khobar police soon reached the site and conducted an investigation.

The police recorded the statement of the child. The child revealed to police that Anoop attempted to suffocate her with a pillow but later backed off. It was also revealed that Ramya seldom talked during the last two days and was always seen sleeping in bed. The news of Ramya and Anoop's death reached families in Kollam only on Thursday night.

Karuva Panchayat Standing Committee member Ajmeen was first informed about the death news. Embassy officials said that Ramya's dead body was more than two days old. Currently, the child is under the care of Malayali Association members in Al Khobar. Post-mortem procedures are yet to be completed. Steps are in progress to bring the mortal remains of the couple to Kerala.

Anoop took Ramya and the child to Saudi just five months ago. Anoop has been an employee of a painting workshop in Saudi's Al-Sanaya for 12 years. The bodies are kept at Dammam Medical Complex Mortuary.
