KOCHI: Several actors accused in sexual assault cases, some involving undisclosed locations, are reportedly untraceable, leaving their colleagues in the dark about their whereabouts. The defendants are currently attempting to address the complaints through legal channels.
Actor and MLA Mukesh arrived in Kochi from Thiruvananthapuram yesterday evening and held a meeting with lawyer Jiyo Paul. He handed over documents to support his claim that the actress's allegations against him are false. However, Mukesh's location after the meeting remains unknown.
Actor Jayasuriya, who has been accused of assaulting an actress during a shooting in Thodupuzha, is reportedly abroad. Jayasuriya has not yet responded to the allegations against him.
The former general secretary of AMMA and an actor accused of rape is also missing from Kochi. Babu, a native of Iringalakuda, lives in a flat in Kaloor but according to other residents, he has not been seen there for several days.
In a related development, former State Chairman of the Lawyers Congress, V S Chandrasekaran, has sought anticipatory bail in court. It is reported that he has not appeared in court following the allegations. The whereabouts of production controller Noble and production executive Vichu are also unclear.
The investigation team is currently focusing on gathering statements from the accused, after which questioning will commence. The police are actively collecting information on their whereabouts as part of the ongoing investigation.
