Actress Shalin Zoya has reacted to the worsening cyberbullying against her in the wake of her old TikTok video now going viral on social media. In the video, Shalin mimics a famous song with former AMMA general secretary Edavela Babu. It was just last week that an Aluva native alleged sexual misconduct from Babu, forcing some netizens to dig up this old video of Shalin from her timeline. The timing was absurd as abuse and criticism started flowing into the video against Babu which later resorted to abuse against the actress herself.

Meanwhile, the Ernakulam North Police have registered a case against Edvela Babu regarding the complaint.

Shalin Zoya:

“The now-going viral TikTok video was taken back in 2019 after the film ‘Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel’ was released. The song was viral back then and I took the video along with Babu sir at a film set. The song had the lyrics saying ‘Babuetta’ so I thought it would be fun enough to do the video with someone named Babu. However now, some dedicated people have travelled back years to dig up this old video and juxtapose it with the current set of events. What more can I say? I'm also subjected to humiliation now.

Even if I come up with a clarification post, people are waiting to troll me. The cyber world is brutal and I hate them sometimes.”
