KOCHI: FEFKA general secretary and director B Unnikrishnan said that there is no power group in the film industry and there are only strong alliances. B Unnikrishnan also told the media that he will not stay away from the film policy formulation committee formed by the government. "Anyone is free to file a complaint against me. The government has a clear stand on this issue. Only the FEFKA General Secretary is included in that committee, not B Unnikrishnan, he added.

"It is not clear whether the power group in the Hema Committee report is a statement, a conclusion or a metaphor. There have always been very powerful alliances in cinema. There are production houses that make only big films continuously. There are directors, writers and actors who make films only for them. Big films will happen in that system. Naturally, everyone will try to work with them, because they want to get opportunities. There are strong alliances related to the investment market in all languages. There is no point in turning our backs on that reality."

Mohanlal does not have expertise at an organisation level. He doesn't seem to be able to get to the nitty-gritty of it if asked too many questions. That is his personality. But, as the office bearer of a responsible organization, he resigned when he was unable to perform that role as expected by the public. I respect that honesty. When a president like Mohanlal expressed his willingness to resign, others also resigned, perhaps feeling that he should not be allowed to resign alone. Those who doubted whether to resign may also be among them. As the General Secretary of FEFKA, it is not right for me to say more about the AMMA organization', said B. Unnikrishnan.

To say that there is no casting couch in Malayalam cinema is like turning a blind eye to reality. Malayalam cinema has a long history. Casting couch is something we have been seen and heard many times in this great history. Some say that it is there in every field. There is no need to get away with generalizing it like that. There should be a stand that what is present in every film industry is not needed in the Malayalam film industry.
