BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Brunei, known for its accolades like being home to the world’s richest ruler and a Sultan who dines on gold plates, is back in the spotlight following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit. The Sultan of Brunei hosted a special banquet in honor of Modi and the much-anticipated menu has now been released.
Photos of the opulent banquet were shared by the Indian Embassy in Brunei, revealing a grand feast held at the Sultan’s residence. The meal began with a first course featuring avocado, vegetable rice cake, and cucumber, followed by a refreshing pea and broccoli soup.
For the third course, guests enjoyed a French dish with a pastry crust, quiche, along with spinach, mushroom, pumpkin and a green pea puree with black truffle, all artfully arranged to represent the tricolor of the Indian flag.
The main course showcased a variety of Indian delicacies, including Jeera Rice, Channa Masala, Vegetable Kofta, alongside seafood specialties like Grilled Lobster, Tasmanian Salmon, and Prawns.
The grand meal concluded with a selection of traditional Indian sweets—mango saffron peda, ladoo, and pistachios—offering a sweet end to the feast. Modi’s visit to Brunei marked the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Brunei, making the occasion even more significant.
