Truck skidded off and plunged into gorge; four army personnel belonging to Bengal-based unit killed in Sikkim

GANGTOK: Four soldiers died in a road accident in Sikkim. They had left from Pedong in West Bengal for Suluk in Sikkim. The accident happened on the Silk Route in the Pakyong district of Sikkim.

Driver Pradeep Patel (Madhya Pradesh), Craftsman W Peter (Manipur), Naik Gursev Singh (Haryana) and Subedar K Thankapandi (Tamil Nadu) have been identified as martyrs in the accident. They are from the Binnaguri unit of West Bengal.

The vehicle skidded off the road and fell down 700-800 feet. Officials said the accident took place near Dalopchand Dara along the Rhenock Rongli state highway.
