THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary MV Govindan revealed that the party state secretariat has thoroughly examined the complaint submitted by PV Anvar MLA. Addressing the media, Govindan emphasized that an administrative probe is necessary to investigate Anvar's allegations, rather than a party-level inquiry.

"The government has decided to suspend SP Sujith Das, following an investigation into the allegations made by PV Anvar. The complaint highlights the failure of administrative officials and a special investigation team has been formed to look into the matter," Govindan said.

The CPM state secretary expressed confidence in the investigation team, led by the DGP, stating, "We believe that the DGP can lead the investigation team. Strict action will be taken against all those found to have acted wrongly."

Govindan also took a swipe at the Congress, alleging that the party fails to follow the practice of taking action after considering complaints, unlike the CPI(M).

Govindan accused the opposition in Kerala of adopting a political stance by highlighting the demand of Anvar. He criticized that the opposition stands against the Chief Minister and the party, regardless of whatever issue arises in the state.

"Congress President K Sudhakaran said that the Congress will confront the police not just on the protest grounds, but wherever they are. Such a stance is unconstitutional," Govindan added.
