Government employees and teachers to receive a bonus of Rs 4,000, Onam advance of Rs 20,000

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has announced a bonus of Rs 4,000 for all government employees and teachers on the occasion of Onam. Additionally, those who are not eligible for the bonus will receive a special festival allowance of Rs 2,750, according to Finance Minister KN Balagopal.

A special festival allowance of ₹1,000 has been sanctioned for service pensioners. Those who have retired under the Participatory Pension Scheme will also receive a special festival allowance.

All government employees in the state will be eligible for an Onam advance of Rs 20,000. Part-time, contingent employees and other workers will receive an advance of Rs 6,000. Like last year, all employees, including contract and scheme workers who received festival allowance, will receive the same rate of festival allowance this year as well. The special assistance for Onam will benefit over 13 lakh employees and workers.
