THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Nivin Pauly has lodged a detailed complaint with the DGP in connection with the sexual assault case against him. The actor has called for an investigation into the false complaint filed against him, stating that if there is any conspiracy involved in the incident, it should be exposed. He also confirmed that he was present in Kerala in December last year and will produce his passport as evidence. Additionally, Nivin has submitted a copy of the complaint to the special investigation team handling the case.
The woman had alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Nivin and his gang in Dubai. In her complaint, the woman alleged that one of the culprits had initially offered her a job as a caregiver in Europe in November last year. As it didn't work out, the culprit lured her to Dubai with false promises of a role in a film. According to the woman, she was assaulted by the other accused in a hotel room.
The case was registered under sections pertaining to harassment and insult to womanhood. Despite the woman filing a complaint at the Oonukal police station a month ago, alleging harassment by the same group through social media, no action was taken. The current action was initiated after the special investigation team, constituted following the Hema Committee report, received the harassment complaint.
Nivin Pauly had clarified that the harassment allegations were completely false and that he had never met or spoken to the girl. Moreover, director and actor Vineeth Sreenivasan had come forward the previous day, stating that the harassment complaint against Nivin Pauly was fake. Vineeth said that Nivin was with him during the days mentioned in the complaint and was not in Dubai. He stated that Nivin was part of the shoot for his film 'Varshangalkku Shesham', and that digital evidence, including logs, can be produced to prove this.
