'His films are very different from mine'; Mohanlal about Mammootty

For many years, actor Mohanlal had made it a practice to celebrate Onam with his mother. Despite his hassle-filled move schedules, Mohanlal would try tooth and nail to be at Kochi during Onam. Mohanlal also opened up about his camaraderie with Mammootty in an interview with Kaumudi TV.

Mohanlal:

'We have done almost fifty-three films together. There is no competition as we are still willing to do films together. The films I do and his sort of films are different in treatment. I don’t know whether he could do my films or can I attempt the films he does. We have not discussed such matters. However, it is not easy for us to do a film together. I feel it is better if we do different films.

Both of us came into the cinema during the heydays of Mollywood. It doesn’t mean that the industry is in crumbles now. We had the chance to work and interact with SP Pillai sir, Shivaji sir, Amitabh Bachchan and Nageswara Rao sir. We nurtured good friendships with Rajkumar sir and legends like Padmini Amma. We are truly blessed. All these people have passed away from us and the vintage movies and such stories will never come back.

Mammootty and I had the chance to be in their era and we will relish that for a lifetime. We started as a family and are still following the same."
