THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actress Ranjini has come out against the cinema conclave to be organized by the state government for film policy formulation. In her Facebook post, Ranjini stated that there is no need to hold a conclave to discuss the issues faced by women in the film industry.
"There is no need to convene a conference to discuss this. What needs to be done is to implement the recommendations in the Hema Committee report. Why have a film conclave and waste public money and time?" Ranjini asked in her Facebook post.
Ranjini highlighted that the Justice Hema Committee had already submitted a comprehensive report to the government, examining the issues faced by women in the film industry and providing robust recommendations for addressing them. In light of this, she contended that the film conclave proposed by the government is redundant and serves no purpose.
She also pointed out that the recommendations in the Hema Committee report should be implemented as they are stronger than the decisions made in the film industry.
