THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rainfall in Kerala, with nine districts likely to be affected in the coming hours. The districts of Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod are expected to receive heavy rainfall, according to the IMD.
A yellow alert has been issued for Kannur and Kasaragod districts today, with isolated places in these districts likely to receive heavy rainfall. The IMD has also issued yellow alerts for various districts in the coming days, including Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod on September 8, and Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod on September 9.
Residents in these districts are advised to take necessary precautions and stay alert, as the heavy rainfall may cause flooding and disruptions to daily life.
