THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Various districts across the state are expected to experience rain this morning, according to the Central Meteorological Department. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely in isolated areas of Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Kozhikode. Other districts may also see light rain with strong winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km per hour.
Yellow alert has been announced in various districts today and tomorrow. A chance of isolated heavy rain is forecast. Heavy rains mean rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.

Strong winds with gustiness of 50 to 60 kmph at occasional up to 70 kmph and bad weather conditions are likely over Andhra Pradesh coast, northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining central west Bay of Bengal today.
Gusty winds and bad weather conditions are likely over Gulf of Mannar, South Tamil Nadu coast and adjoining Kanyakumari coast with a speed of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional 65 kmph.
Strong winds and bad weather conditions are likely over Central Bay of Bengal, South West Bay of Bengal and adjoining South East Bay of Bengal with a speed of 45 to 55 kmph and a few occasions up to 65 kmph.
Gusty winds with a speed of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional gusty winds of 65 kmph are likely over Southwest Arabian Sea and adjoining central West Arabian Sea. A warning has also been issued for strong winds and bad weather conditions with a speed of 35 to 45 km per hour and at some occasions up to 55 km per hour over North East Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea.
