THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A meeting between ADGP Ajith Kumar and RSS leader Ram Madhav at a hotel in Kovalam late last year has sparked curiosity, especially with the involvement of businessmen in the discussions. Ajith Kumar has clarified that the meeting took place during a conversation with his friend, RSS leader Jayakumar and mentioned that two other individuals were present. One of them was a Malayali businessman from Chennai, originally hailing from Kannur, while the identity of the second person remains undisclosed.
So far, no official details have been released about the purpose or content of the meeting. When approached for comment, Ram Madhav stated that he was not in a position to respond at this time.
Adding to the intrigue, it has come to light that Ajith Kumar had applied four times for the President's Vishishta Seva Medal but was denied due to an unfavourable report from the Intelligence Bureau. Speculation is rife that the meeting may have been intended to influence decisions at the central level.
Meanwhile, in response to the revelations made by MLA PV Anwar, DGP Sheikh Darvesh Sahib has reportedly issued strict instructions to the investigation team probing the allegations against Ajith Kumar and others. The DGP has emphasized the need for complete confidentiality, even to the extent of not disclosing the identities of the team members. The scope of the investigation includes the construction of Ajith Kumar's house and his meeting with the RSS leader, among other issues. A report on the investigation is expected to be submitted to the government soon.
Despite the ongoing probe, Ajith Kumar continues to serve in his law and order role. He will be on leave from September 14 to 17.
