THRISSUR: The Communist Party of India (CPI) has demanded the release of the government's inquiry report into the disruption of the Thrissur Pooram festivities, alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its candidate Suresh Gopi were the primary beneficiaries of the chaos. The CPI had earlier alleged that there was a conspiracy based on political motives behind the events that led to the disruption of the night procession and the subsequent halting of festivities by the Thiruvambady Devaswom Board during the Thrissur Pooram, which took place just before the Lok Sabha elections.

The LDF (Left Democratic Front) had also taken a stand that the Thrissur Pooram conspiracy should be exposed. The government had taken actions, including transferring Thrissur City Commissioner, based on the finding that the officials had exceeded their limits in connection with the incident.

'The conspiracy behind the disruption of the Pooram festivals needs to be exposed. The political beneficiaries of this incident were the BJP and their candidate Suresh Gopi. In the wake of the controversy surrounding ADGP's meeting with RSS leaders, the government should release the inquiry report on the disruption of Thrissur Pooram and reveal the truth to the public,' CPI Thrissur district executive committee said.
