THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Roshy Augustine mooted plans to introduce a standard operating procedure while carrying out pipeline work in the city. For this purpose, the Water Authority will hold a discussion with senior officials including MD on Thursday. Measures will be taken to not repeat the 'ill-planned' work as in Thiruvananthapuram.

People will be warned at least 15 days before work except for emergency phases. A meeting will also be held with the district administration to preserve adequate water before any such repair works. The priority order will be determined on a regional basis regarding how much water is needed in Thiruvananthapuram Municipality. For this, the Ward Councilor will consult with the Residents Association office bearers.

The logjam in Thiruvananthapuram that largely affected residents will be studied in detail and the responsible officials will be taken to task. The criticism from people’s representatives including MLA V K Prasanth will be taken into consideration.
