KOCHI: The High Court rejected the petition filed by Robin bus owner against the government's actions. The court also clarified that contact carriage buses do not have the power to board passengers and conduct services. The petition was considered by a bench headed by Justice Nagaresh. The high court also accepted KSRTC's argument that what robin bus is doing is a violation of law.

Robin bus owner claimed that he has the right to operate the service and board passengers after putting destination board as per the All India Permit rules. Meanwhile, the government and the Motor Vehicles Department alleged that the service of Robin bus is permit violation. Following this, the Motor Vehicles Department had taken action, including imposing a fine and seizing the bus. The bus owner had approached the high court against these actions. KSRTC had also approached the high court after this.
