THIRUVANNANTHAPURAM: After hitting a pedestrian with their bike, the riders callously left the injured person locked inside a nearby room abandoning him without seeking medical help or reporting the incident. The injured person, Suresh (55), a native of Kalinku Nada, succumbed to his injuries while lying in the room. The incident took place in Vellarada in Thiruvananthapuram. CCTV footage of the incident has come out.

The incident took place on September 7. Suresh was standing on the roadside at night when a bike hit him. Soon after the accident, the youths stopped the bike, picked up Suresh and took him to the nearby room where he was living. The footage does not provide a clear indication of Suresh's health condition as he was being carried into the room. However, it shows the two individuals leaving the room after placing Suresh inside.

Locals discovered Suresh's body yesterday afternoon when they examined the room after noticing a foul smell coming from the room. The police arrived at the spot and shifted the body to the Vellarada Taluk Hospital. It is still unclear why the youths locked Suresh in the room after the accident. The police are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
