Sexual assault at 'Bro Daddy' shooting set; assistant director Manzoor Rasheed arrested

KOCHI: Police have arrested assistant director Manzoor Rasheed on the sexual assault complaint lodged by a woman. Manzoor surrendered at the Kukatpally Court in Hyderabad the other day. Manzoor, who has been remanded for 14 days, is currently lodged in the Sangareddy District Jail.

The Gachibowli police have stated that they will oppose Manzoor's bail plea. Manzoor had gone into hiding after the Kukatpally Court and the Telangana High Court rejected his anticipatory bail pleas.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that Manzoor had sexually assaulted her at the set of the film 'Bro Daddy' in Hyderabad in 2021. According to the complaint, Manzoor committed the crime after giving her drugs. The complaint also stated that the accused filmed her naked and blackmailed her, extorting six lakh rupees from her. Manzoor had worked as an assistant director in films such as 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum' and 'Lucifer'.
