THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: WCC representatives met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and requested him to ensure the privacy of those who gave statements before the Hema Committee. WCC also said that privacy should not be violated in the name of a special team's investigation into complaints of sexual harassment in the film industry. The chief minister replied that the matter would be considered. The representatives demanded that women should be provided with facilities on location and the recommendations suggested by the Hema Committee should be implemented.
Actress Revathi, Rima Kallingal, Deedi Damodaran, Beena Paul and Asha Achi Joseph met the chief minister. Revathi said she met the chief minister in the wake of concerns that the privacy of those who gave statements may be lost as the court proceedings are in progress and a Special Investigation Team has been assigned to the report.
"We are concerned about the privacy of those who have given statements. The things they said, and their names should not come out. The hunters go to court, saying, 'I didn't do it'. Victims will naturally go into a bad mental condition. Those who have given statements should be safe," Revathi said. Rima Kallingal said that WCC is thinking about what can be done to move forward with the government.
