KOCHI: The Kerala High Court quashed the case filed against former Congress MLAs for allegedly assaulting left women MLAs during the ruckus witnessed in the assembly. Justice P V Kunhikrishnan passed the order after considering the plea filed by former MLAs M A Wahid, Dominic Presentation and K Sivadasan Nair against the case registered.

The incident happened on March 13 in 2015 during budget presentation. Alleging that the late former finance minister K M Mani was an accused in the bar bribery case, the opposition's attempt to block the budget presentation ended in the pandemonium. The police then registered a case against the present education minister V Sivankutty, former ministers E P Jayarajan and K T Jaleel.

The congress leaders were implicated in the case in 2023 where only Left MLAs were arraigned. Women leaders K K Lathika and Jameela Prakasham were manhandled. Fromer MLAs approached the court against this.
