VATICAN: As the US presidential election draws near, Pope Francis criticized candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, stating that both are opposed to life. He urged Catholic voters of the US to choose the "lesser evil" in the November election.
He described Trump's stance on immigration and Harris' support for abortion, rights as contrary to the value of life.
Pope Francis indirectly criticized US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, without mentioning their names. He condemned Trump's vow to deport undocumented immigrants, calling it a "great sin" to reject migrants. He also denounced Harris's pro-abortion stance, equating it with "murder".
"To send migrants away, to leave them wherever you want, to leave them ... it's something terrible, there is evil there. To send away a child from the womb of the mother is an assassination, because there is life. We must speak about these things clearly. One must choose the lesser of two evils. Who is the lesser of two evils? That lady or that gentleman? I don't know," Pope Francis said.
