NAGPUR: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari revealed about a pompous offer he received from an opposition leader, promising to posit him as the new prime minister candidate. Gadkari said that he denied the offer as it was against his ethics nor did he desire the prized position.

Nitin Gadkari:

“I remember an incident. I am not naming anyone. The person told me if you are going to be the prime minister, we will support you. But I asked him back. Why should you support me and what made you think I will accept your offer?

It is not my goal to be the prime minister of India. I will always be adherent to the ideas of my parent organization. I won’t compromise my ideology for worldly positions. Ideology matters more in my case.” Gadkari made this revelation at a media function in Nagpur.

Nitin Gadkari is currently the Union Minister of Surface Transport. Gadkari held these important posts in the first and second Modi governments. Shiv Sena (Uddav Thackeray faction) leader Vinayak Rawat had promised that Gadkari would be made the Prime Minister if the INDI alliance came to power.

However, it is unknown which leader Gadkari pointed to in his new revelation.
