Tragic end for aunt and three-year-old relative after scooter overturns losing control

MALAPPURAM: A woman and her relative aged three-year-old met with a tragic end after her scooter overturned losing control. The incident happened in Malappuram. The dead have been identified as Sreelakshmi (37) and Dhyan Dev. Dhyan Dev is the son of Sreelakshmi's husband's younger brother. Her two children injured in the accident have been admitted to the hospital.

The accident happened at Karachal near Mambad at around 10:30 Monday morning. Sreelakshmi's husband Shinoj, she and the three children were in the scooter. While descending, the scooter lost control and hit the pipe laid for drinking water and fell into the rubber plantation. The vehicle stopped after hitting a rubber tree.

No one was in the area at the time of the accident. After about fifteen minutes, people saw the victims and took them to the hospital. Dhyan Dev died on way to the hospital. Sreelakshmi died after reaching the hospital. Shinoj and his children were shifted to Kozhikode Medical College.
