THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Survey director Sreeram Venkitaram, IAS accused of killing K M Basheer, unit chief of Siraj daily, with his car under the influence of alcohol, has been granted bail. The bail was granted by the Vanchiyoor Court. The court asked how did you find that he was drunk. They also asked to produce the results of the blood tests. Considering the case, the court directed to produce the case diary. When the case was considered at 2.30 pm, the case diary and parts of the car involved in the accident was produced.

The court rejected the demand of the police seeking his custody. The custody plea was rejected based on the medical report that he is under treatment. The doctors had directed to keep him under observation for 72 hours. It has been hinted that there is a delay from the side of forensic in collecting evidence. Doctors have so far not permitted to take his finger prints after three days in the name of injuries. But when Sreeram signed his bail plea, it became clear that this was a coup attempt.

Siraj Press Management moved the court requesting to produce him for a dopamine test. The demand is to examine him to find whether he has used any drugs. From the time of the accident, the officer joined hands with museum crime sub inspector to destroy evidence, argued the advocate who appeared for the daily.
