NEW DELHI: In the affidavit filed in the Supreme Court, the state government alleged actor Dileep of trying to distort the evidence presented in the trial court by fabricating baseless lies in the actress assault case. The affidavit was submitted while the court was hearing the bail plea of Pulsar Suni, the first accused in the case.

From the affidavit:

Dileep is trying to prolong the trial. The actor’s counsel is filing leave applications for the six accused, who are regularly absent during the trial. Serious allegations have been levelled against Pulsar Suni.

If granted bail, the accused can subvert the trial proceedings by threatening the victim with the video of the sexual assault. The affidavit also states that the accused will likely leave the state if released.

The government also asked for four more weeks to produce the statement of the investigating officer, Baiju Paulose.
