NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah lashed out at the media at a press conference to explain the 100-day activities of the third Modi government. Amit Shah was irked by a question about the Manipur riots.
“What is happening in Manipur is not terrorism but ethnic conflict. The government has taken several steps to restore peace. Discussion has been going on with the two tribal sects.” Said Amit Shah.
To a question about Biren Singh still continuing as Manipur Chief Minister, Shah curtly asked the media to ask questions but not argue.
About Modi’s impending Manipur visit:
“If PM Modi is going to visit Manipur, you will surely get to know about that.” Responsed Shah.
“ 'One nation one election policy' will be brought during this tenure. Projects worth Rs 15 crore have been approved since the third Narendra Modi government came to power. The government has allocated Rs 3 lakh crore for infrastructure development. 25,000 villages have been connected with roads for Rs 49,000 crore.
The Center has decided to develop major roads in the country for Rs 50,600 crore. A mega port will be built at Vadhavan in Maharashtra.” Amit Shah added that restrictions have been imposed on the Myanmar border to prevent infiltration.
