THRISSUR: Opposition Leader VD Satheesan said that the Chief Minister cannot order an inquiry into the meeting between ADGP MR Ajith Kumar and the RSS General Secretary. Speaking to the media in Thiruvananthapuram, Satheesan alleged that the meeting took place as per the instructions of the Chief Minister.
"The ADGP attended the meeting as the CM's messenger. Hence, the Chief Minister cannot order an investigation into the meeting between the RSS leader and the ADGP. Some ministers and others are claiming that the ADGP's visit was personal. Are there any border disputes between the ADGP and the RSS leader for them to meet him personally?" Satheesan said.
"The ADGP also met RSS leader Ram Madhav in a 10-day gap. Why is the Chief Minister deputing officials to negotiate with RSS leaders? The Chief Minister is trying to protect the people whom he sent like that. Action was taken against EP Jayarajan for meeting Prakash Javadekar. During the election time, the Chief Minister said that he had also met Javadekar five or six times. Why did the Chief Minister of Kerala meet Prakash Javadekar, who is not a union minister, but is in charge of organizing the BJP? Why was action taken only against EP Jayarajan? This is a double standard. As part of the unholy nexus between the CPM and the BJP, an atmosphere was created for the BJP candidate to win in Thrissur by disrupting the Thrissur Pooram," Satheesan said.
"The opposition had demanded that female officials be appointed to conduct an investigation on the findings made by the Hema Committee. However, the government formed a team that included both men and women. Instead of investigating the findings in the Hema Committee report, this team is investigating the revelations made after the Hema Committee report came out. The High Court has directed that an investigation should be conducted into the report's findings. Based on the High Court order, the culprits should be brought to justice without revealing the privacy of the victims. It is unfortunate that the government is not ready to take an honest stand. The government is with the predators, not the victims. The government is researching how to protect the culprits. It is being proved every day that this is an anti-women government," he added.
