Suffered chest pain while climbing mountain; policeman collapses and dies while going for duty at Sabarimala

PATHANAMTHITTA: A Civil Police Officer (CPO) collapsed and died while on his way to report for duty at Sabarimala in connection with masa pooja. The deceased has been identified as Amal Jose (28), a native of Vellanad in Thiruvananthapuram. He was a CPO of the Thannithodu station.

Amal experienced chest pain while trekking to Sabarimala via Neelimala. Although he was rushed to the hospital in Pamba, his life could not be saved. Preliminary reports indicate that he died due to a heart attack.
