THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The investigation team said the statements of more than 20 people who disclosed sexual misconduct and exploitation before the Justice Hema Committee are serious. Majority of them will be contacted directly within ten days. On the statement of those who want to continue the legal process, a case will be filed before October 3.
The decision was taken in the meeting of the special committee convened yesterday. The government has handed over the full copy of the committee report to the inquiry team. The original report has 3896 pages. These pages consist of a detailed statement and supporting evidence. The Hema Committee will also seek the help of the committee members who prepared the report of the culture department to find those whose names and addresses have not been disclosed.
The investigators had read so many pages in several parts. Each woman officer will read the statements completely within three days. After that the women officers will directly contact the 20 people whose statements are considered serious.
A case will be filed after knowing the interest of those who gave the statement. 23 cases were taken up in the disclosure of the actresses but they were not based on the Hema Committee report. Also, the police will collect information from 50 people who have given statements to the committee within a week. The special investigation team led by ADGP H Venkatesh will divide into four and take statements.
