KOLLAM: More information surface in the incident of a man hacking his wife to death in Kottarakkara over suspicion of extramarital affair. The dead is Saraswathy Amma (50) of Pallikkal. After committing the murder, her husband Surendran Pillai surrendered at the police station. Relatives have come forward harshly criticizing the accused.

Her relatives said that no woman would love her husband so much. ‘He may have enjoyed her dying. He is that cruel. He has no mental issues. He will not allow her to cooperate with any of her relatives or locals. If she cooperates with them, he was scared that she would reveal the continuous harassment she faced from him. He doesn’t like anyone calling or visiting her. He simply roams around the house to see if anyone is coming. If she was alive, she would have said that it was not her husband who committed the crime. She loved him so much.

After strangling her to death, the accused hacked her to confirm her death. There were frequent fights between the two for quite some time. Pillai told police that his wife had some illicit relationship and he murdered her due to this. After killing her, he went to the police station in an auto and told police about the incident. The police reached home and when examined found the body in the house. The couple has two children and both are abroad.
