KOLLAM: Shobha, the mother of the car owner, has come forward against Ajmal, one of the accused in the case of the hit-and-run death of Kunjumol in Mynagappally. She alleged that Ajmal deliberately took away her son's car. 'We know Ajmal from the place where he used to live on rent earlier. Ajmal took the car because he saw us at Karunagappally on Thiruvonam day." The police reached Sobha's house with Ajmal and collected evidence.

"I had gone to Mynagappally with my son. Ajmal had deliberately taken the car away. The car's insurance expired on the 13th. We have done nothing wrong. We live in a rented house. Ajmal was from where we lived earlier. We don't know anything else. No one has ever driven this car except my son and son-in-law. I had high pressure on Onam day. My son came to Karunagappally with me. We met Ajmal when we went to the petrol pump to fill air in the tires. Ajmal saw my son and said he wanted food." - Shobha's words.

Meanwhile, the police conducted searches at the house in Karunagappally where Dr Sreekutty was staying on rent and the hotel room in Karunagappally where the accused are staying. On Thiruvonam day evening, Muhammed Ajmal hit the scooter rider Kunjumol, a native of Mynagappally, and then ran the car over her body.
