Relief in Nipah; Test results of 20 more people return negative, 267 people are on contact list

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister Veena George on Friday said that 20 more people have tested negative for Nipah. No new persons have been added to the contact list today. There are a total of 267 persons on the contact list. Out of these, 81 are healthcare workers. 177 people are on the primary contact list and 90 are on the secondary contact list. Of those in the primary list, 134 are in the high-risk category.

A review meeting chaired by the Minister assessed the situation. Meanwhile, a person with symptoms was admitted to Manjeri Medical College Hospital today. This individual and three others are undergoing treatment at Manjeri, while 28 others are receiving care at MES Medical College Hospital, Perinthalmanna. Those in the contact list are being provided excellent mental support. A total of 268 people, including three new individuals, received mental support through the call centre today.
