'Known for sneaking into daughter's bathroom' ; Shocking allegation in Arun murder case

KOLLAM: The horrific incident of a man stabbing his daughter’s boyfriend to death has put a village in shock. Arun Kumar, a native of Eravipuram, was stabbed to death by Prasad, a native of Vanchikovil.

There occurred a verbal feud between Arun and Prasad as the latter questioned the youngster for harassing his daughter. The talk worsened and Prasad later stabbed the teen to death. And now, Arun’s father has come out with more revelations.

While talking with a media portal, Arun’s father revealed how Prasad summoned his son from the house and later killed him brutally.

“Prasad’s daughter has shifted from the family house. Do you know why? It is because of his lewd nature. She has now moved to Nellimukku. His wife is working in the Gulf and this has made the monster out of him come out. There were instances when Prasad sneaked into his daughter while she was bathing. It was my son, who took the initiative to move her from that house. Prasad’s wife was also informed about the incident.

Yesterday, Prasad came to our house and asked for my son. He wanted to have talks with my son on the issue related to his daughter. My son had earlier requested that I conduct their engagement. But he was just 19 and I advised him to wait for a few years before taking any crucial decision. But he killed my son yesterday at his daughter’s place.”

The incident occurred at 6 pm yesterday at Valiyakavu Nagar in Irattakkada. The murder was sparked by a dispute over the victim allegedly harassing Prasad's daughter.

Prasad invited Arun Kumar to discuss the issue, and Arun arrived at the house in Irattakkada with friends. During the conversation, an argument ensued, and in a fit of rage, Prasad grabbed a nearby knife and stabbed Arun in the chest. Although Arun was immediately admitted to the district hospital and later to a private hospital in Kollam, he could not be saved. Sakthikulangara police have registered a case.

Arun’s family has now alleged the murder to be honour killing.
