ANGOLA: A piece of bone suspected to be that of a human has been recovered from the Shirur Gangavali river in the Angola district of Karnataka. The bone has been shifted to a police camp in Angola for DNA testing. The bone parts were found during the search for three people, including Arjun, a native of Kozhikode, who went missing in the landslide.

Satish Krishna Sail MLA has confirmed that the bone has been found. "It should be sent to the FSL lab. Whether the bone belongs to a human or any other animal can only be said after examining it. We will have to wait for at least a week for that," Satheesh Sail told the media. Diver Eshwar Malpe had stopped the search after a difference of opinion with the police and the district administration.

The search is being carried out using a dredger brought from Karwar. The district administration and the police are of the view that when such a search is carried out by removing the soil, it is not possible to conduct a check by diving into the water nearby. The company that brought the dredger had also brought a diver to Shirur. Malpe returned after being told that the search should be carried out using only government machinery. Differences of opinion had cropped up between the Shirur district administration and Malpe in the past as well.

Malpe and his team are returning after being denied permission to search underwater. "Will not come to Shirur again and is returning to Uduppi. Apologising to Arjun's family. They said not to be a hero too much. They said not to share the information with anyone. Will return only if the district administration requests it through a letter.' Malpe said.

Sharing the information with the media angered the district administration. It is believed that the lorry will be found from under the river. Had promised Arjun's family, but returning. Cannot continue fighting with the authorities. Malpe added that the mission cannot be accomplished by fighting.
