Complaint against Siddique quite serious; possibility of influencing witnesses, says HC

KOCHI: More information of the high court verdict rejecting Siddique's bail plea on the sexual harassment complaint of the actress, surface. The court observed that the complaint against Siddique was quite serious and he needs to be grilled in custody.

The court pointed out that there is a possibility of Siddique influencing the witnesses. Along with that, the court also directed to subject Siddique to a medical examination. The high court stated that the defense' argument that the complainant is not reliable is unnecessary and an attempt is being made to silence her.

The complainant's character should not be judged by the fact that she was a victim of sexual assault. The high court also assessed that it should be considered that she survived that. The actress got acquainted to Siddique during her plus two days, invited her to the hotel after a preview show held at Nila Theatre for a film discussion. Parents were with her at that time. When she reached the hotel, he locked her in the room and abused her. The complainant also alleged that she somehow escaped from there.
