Putting temple fire tragedy, decision to allot special posts in trial court

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet that convened here today decided to give permission to allot new and transfer posts to the special additional district and sessions court allocated at Kollam Paravoor for the trial of the Puttingal Devi Temple firing incident. A post of head clerk will be created on a temporary basis subject to conditions. Two clerks cum typist posts will be converted into two LD typist posts. It has also been decided to recruit one clerk, one LD typist and two office attendants on daily wage basis.

Name change
The amendment to change the name of the Store Purchase Department to the Public Procurement Advisory Department will be sought for the approval of the Governor.

Tender accepted
Tender for construction of new bridge downstream of head works dam on Munnar Pothamedu Road in Idukki Devikulam Constituency has been accepted.

Ordinance
Approved the draft Kerala Taxation Rules (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024, which contained amendments to the Kerala State Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, the Kerala Finance Act, 2024 and the Kerala Finance Act, 2008. It was also decided to recommend the Governor to issue the Ordinance.

Financial assistance and free ration
5,250 each to 299 workers/ dependents of Alappuzha Port and the amount required to provide free ration for two weeks from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. This is similar to what was given in previous years on the occasion of Onam.

Distribution of amount from CM’s Relief Fund
4,53,20,950 was distributed from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund from 19th to 24th September 2024. 2153 people are beneficiaries from different districts.

Kannur- Rs.8,08,000 for 16
Kasaragod- 57,68,000 to 214 people
