A video of a father dancing with his daughters on their wedding day has taken social media by storm. The dance, set to Prabhu Deva's iconic song ‘Mukala Mukabala’, quickly became a viral sensation. Initially, viewers were left wondering whether the man in the video was the bride's brother or husband. However, when it was revealed that he was actually her father, disbelief spread online. The man in the video has been identified as Korottu Lalu from Chenthrapini, Thrissur, dancing alongside his daughters Devika and Anamika.
The impromptu moment occurred after Lalu saw his daughter Devika dancing on stage and decided to join her, creating a joyful and energetic performance that captivated audiences.
In a recent interview with an online media outlet, Lalu and his daughters shared their excitement over the video going viral. The family revealed that people often mistake Lalu for someone much younger.
"I got married at 22, my eldest daughter was born when I was 23 and now I'm 46," Lalu said. Devika added, "When I go out with my father, many people ask if he’s my brother or my father. Even when I tell them he's my dad, they ask again. After the video went viral, this question came up even more and it’s a little embarrassing."
Lalu, a seasoned dancer, also shared his personal story about his love for dance. "I used to perform a lot when I was younger. My children and I even hired a teacher to learn dance together. We performed on 647 stages. My cousin, who was like a brother to me, was my biggest support. Sadly, he passed away in a tragic accident while we were filming an album, right in my arms. After that, I stopped dancing—it's been 18 years."
