Youth arrested in Malappuram for threatening doctor with knife for heavy dose drugs

MALAPPURAM: A youth, who threatened a doctor with knife and made her prescribe heavy dose of drugs, has been arrested. The arrested is 32-year-old Zakeer. The accused attacked the taluk hospital at Ponnani in Malappuram around 12 on Tuesday night. The youth reached the hospital with a request to prescribe heavy dose of narcotic pills.

The doctor said that she cannot prescribe the medicine without the prescription of the psychiatrist. With this, the youth who went returned and threatened the doctor with a knife and made her prescribe the medicine. He created a ruckus in the hospital. The doctor then lodged a complaint with the police. The police then collected the CCTV footage of the incident from the hospital. The superintendent of the hospital said that youth has been coming to the hospital for the past few days. He was arrested after an investigation.
