Police constable killed by car smuggling illegal liquor, search underway for driver

NEW DELHI: A Delhi Police constable, Sandeep, from Nangloi station, tragically lost his life after being struck by a car involved in smuggling illegal liquor. The accident occurred at around 3 AM today when Sandeep was on duty, checking the main road following a tip-off about the smuggling operation.

While attempting to stop a speeding Maruti WagonR, the vehicle hit Sandeep from behind, dragging him for about 10 meters before crashing into another stationary car. Sandeep sustained severe head injuries and was initially rushed to Sonia Hospital before being transferred to Balaji Hospital in Paschim Vihar for specialized treatment. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.

​​​Police have recovered the vehicle involved in the accident and are analyzing CCTV footage from the area. A search operation is currently underway to apprehend the driver.
