BHOPAL: A 10th standard student was arrested for misbehaving with a five-year-old girl, in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh. The incident came to light when the girl, a UKG student, told her mother. The incident happened on 27th of this month. The accused is the son of the watchman and a student of the same school as the child. The girl had complained that she was touched badly in the watchman's room on the third floor of the school building.

Additional Superintendent of Police Rakesh Khakha informed the media that an investigation is being conducted on the complaint filed by the child's mother. He said that only the first floor of the school had CCTV systems. POCSO cases under sections 65(2) (for molesting children below 12 years of age) and 75 of the Criminal Code have been booked against the boy.

After the incident came out, various criticisms are coming up. Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari responded on X that girls are not safe in schools in the BJP-ruled state. This condition of the five-year-old girl is very debilitating. He clarified in the post our daughters face such situations on a daily basis.
